UCJ Application process

  1. Come and meet us at one of our Applicant events, you can find more details on our Events page. You’ll meet Programme Leaders and learn from our current students what to expect from studying an on-island degree level programme at UCJ.

  2. Once you have chosen your programme you need to apply. We’ll need you to write a personal statement which explains why you’re the right candidate for your course, what skills and attributes do you have to be successful in your industry, and what do you know about the career choice you are making.

  3. Once you have applied for your programme we’ll invite you to attend an interview, for some of our programmes this will be a chance to meet our industry partners. For our Social Work programme, you will be asked to complete an assessment or task on the day, but don’t worry you’ll be given more information about this once you have made an application. If your chosen programme asks you to work with children, or vulnerable adults, you will be asked to complete a Disclosure & Barring Check (DBS), this will be listed on the course page as an entry requirement if it is relevant for your chosen course.

  4. Once you have had your interview we will write to you with the outcome of your offer, don’t forget to accept your offer. Some of our courses have limited spaces so we wouldn’t want you to miss out! Once you have accepted your offer, you’re part of our UCJ community and we’ll keep in touch with you about events and updates as we near your start date.

  5. You’ll be invited to Freshers Week, and to other enrolment activities and you begin taking steps towards your exciting future.
