For students aged 16–18, sixth form education is generally free at the point of delivery, provided that local residency requirements are fully met.
For students who do not meet the full residency requirements, applications for funding support will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact finance@highlands.ac.uk for further guidance and support.
For full details on how Jersey residency categories are defined, please refer to the Government of Jersey’s guide to Moving to Jersey: Education.
Additional Costs to Consider
While tuition is typically covered, students may encounter some additional costs:
- Student ID Cards: A free student ID card is issued at enrolment. If lost, replacements are available at a charge of £5.
- Course-Specific Costs: Some courses may require students to undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or purchase specific equipment or uniforms. These costs will be the responsibility of the student.
- Educational Trips: Where departments organise course-related trips, full details and any associated costs will be communicated in advance.
If you have any questions about financial support or additional course costs, please speak to a member of the Highlands College Finance team who will be happy to help guide you.
