Financial support - Highlands Apprenticeships

If you’re thinking about becoming an apprentice - or you're an employer wanting to take one on - here’s what you need to know about how funding works.

In Jersey, apprenticeship funding can be provided by the Government of Jersey to support the development of skilled professionals across a range of industries.

Funding is available to support apprenticeship training and assessment costs for individuals who meet certain eligibility criteria. In general, apprentices may be eligible if:

  • The apprentice is ordinarily resident in Jersey
  • The apprentice is aged 16 or over
  • The apprentice is entering into a formal apprenticeship with a registered employer
  • The apprenticeship is delivered through an approved training provider, such as Highlands College.

Funding is available for both new apprentices and those continuing their training into further stages.

Please note: The funding does not cover wages. Apprentice wages are paid by the employer, who enters into an agreement with the apprentice and the training provider.
