Learning Support

At University College Jersey, we believe every student deserves the chance to thrive. Our friendly Learning Support team is here to help you reach your full potential, offering tailored support and enhanced screening to identify any extra help you might need along the way.

If you have a disability, learning difficulty, or a long-term health condition, we’re here to guide you through the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) process and make sure you get the support you’re entitled to. You might qualify for DSA if you have a condition that affects your learning - such as Dyslexia, Irlen Syndrome, ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Support can include one-to-one sessions, specialist software, and more - we'll find whatever works best for you.

If you'd like to know more, just have a chat with your personal tutor. We're here to help you every step of the way.

Exam Access Arrangements

University College Jersey understand that everyone has different needs when it comes to exams. If you require extra support, we’re here to help. Our team will work closely with you to find the most suitable arrangements to help you perform at your best.

Support can include:

  • Extra time in exams
  • Rest breaks
  • Access to technology

We aim to make reasonable adjustments wherever possible, but some things can't be changed if they’re a core part of the qualification. For example, if a task must be done independently to meet assessment criteria, we’re not allowed to provide support with that part. Similarly, we can’t offer a human reader in an English exam where reading is the key skill being tested.
